Motorcycle Safety Training of Polk Co., Inc. is committed to increasing the number of properly educated motorcyclists on the streets and highways in an attempt to help reduce the number of motorcycle-related accidents

Our MST RiderCourse curriculum is suitable for everyone -- beginners or experienced riders. Our Central Florida motorcycle training facility is ideal for both private and public lessons. Our motorcycle training facility offers you the advantage of classroom style instruction in addition to hands on motorcycle safety training makes obtaining your Florida Motorcycle License easier.

MST Courses Offered

The True Beginner - Private Lesson

The True Beginner instructional is a three hour private lesson designed as an introduction to motorcycling. This class is to give new riders a training session to get acquainted with a training motorcycle and give the rider a sample of how the Motorcycle Safety Training Basic Rider Course works.

True Beginner is held in a non-stressful atmosphere at a slow pace. Hopefully a new rider can achieve a comfort level before committing to a 16 hour course. Many riders are apprehensive about starting a training class with no experience at all. This instructional gives riders a "head start" on the Basic Riders Course and many times gives that new rider the confidence they need to move to the next level.

The True Beginner does not include any certification or license. Cost is $125.


Basic Riders Course (BRC) - Get Your Florida License!

Did you ever ride a motorcycle? Have you not operated a motorcycle in many years? Do you have little or no experience on a motorcycle? Did you ride a motorcycle and never had your motorcycle license?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you probably want to start here. We will begin in the classroom, learning about how to operate a motorcycle safely on the street. Topics include street strategies, riding gear, and motorcycle controls, among others.

The next step takes us out to the range getting valuable "hands on" experience in a supervised environment. Let us take the stress out of that first "on motorcycle experience." We will learn the four basic operating skills and apply them to simulated street situations. Successful completion of this class will meet the testing requirements needed to obtain your Florida Motorcycle License.
 

THIS CLASS IS REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR ANYONE WANTING A MOTORCYCLE ENDORSEMENT.

Experienced Riders Course (ERC)

Do you currently ride a motorcycle? Have you been operating a motorcycle for at least three months or have you ridden 3,000 miles? Did you get a new motorcycle? Are you ready to see how YOUR motorcycle reacts in special situations?

This 6 hour class will help to increase your confidence in advanced turning and braking skills and in swerving techniques. See how you and your motorcycle react under these crash avoidance techniques. If you have currently mastered the basic skills and have your own motorcycle, then you are ready for the ERC.

This course is NOT entry level, nor is it for someone who used to ride a motorcycle years ago and is now just starting to again ride a motorcycle.

TO ENROLL FOR THIS CLASS YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN MOTORCYCLE AND HAVE YOUR MOTORCYCLE LICENSE. (Individuals under the age of 21 must have a valid motorcycle License.)

You will need a street worthy motorcycle, DOT approved helmet, full fingered gloves, and other course related safety equipment. Call 863-676-2469 or 407-341-7557 for current schedules and available classes.

The cost for this class is $110.00 

AS OF JULY 1ST, 2008, FLORIDA STATE LAW WILL REQUIRE ANYONE DESIRING A MOTORCYCLE ENDORSEMENT TO TAKE THE MOTORCYCLE SAFETY FOUNDATION BASIC RIDER COURSE. DMV TESTING WILL NO LONGER BE AN OPTION. PLEASE CALL FOR THE NEXT AVAILABLE CLASS!


Got A Ticket?

Then you need the Basic Driver Improvement Course! (BDI). This option will:

• Keep points off of your license
• Reduce your civil penalty by 18%
• Keep your insurance rates from increasing
• May qualify you for an insurance discount even if you have not received a citation!
• Available for business with fleet vehicles for insurance requirements!
• Get your certificate the same day!



TCAC

The Traffic Collision Avoidance Course (TCAC) is usually state mandated. If you received a letter from the Florida Department of Highway Safety stating that you need the TCAC, Motorcycle Safety Training is the place for you!

Getting your license?

We offer the Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness (DATA), which is required by the state of Florida to obtain your Florida Drivers License Permit.
